Manufactured at the company’s plant in Reservoir Victoria, Ag-TUFF Greenhouse Covers have superior qualities for the most demanding outdoor applications. The specifically developed additives blended in accordance with a special proprietary formula and the use of the latest in computer technology are combined to ensure the correct mixing of the different additives to produce the unique properties inherent in the AgTuff product.

Ag-TUFF  contains a specifically formulated additive which virtually eliminates the problem of weakness along the folds. The new blends in AgTuff ensure a life expectancy of between 3 to 5 years with folds twice as strong making failure along the folds a thing of the past. Tests confirm that AgTuff outperforms most other imported films.

Ag-TUFF  now also contains brand new chemical resistant compounds and UV light transmission inhibitors which eliminate the need to white wash tunnels in the summer normally required to protect the crop from sun burn and also contains special compounds to reduce diseases such as Botrytis, other fungal pathogens and White Fly which directly affects crop yield.

OTHER AGTUFF PRODUCTS: Other AG-TUFF products include Ag-TUFF Light (designed to last only 18 months to 2 years and 40% cheaper than Ag-TUFF Gold), Ag-TUFF  Anti-Fog, Ag-TUFF White as well as other general use products including Ag-TUFF  Mulch and Ag-TUFF Clouche Film, haystack covers, silage film and dam liners.

Extensive tests have shown that Ag-TUFF  Gold Greenhouse Covers are now even more effective for the most demanding outdoor applications. Ag-TUFF  Gold Greenhouse Covers have excellent light transmission qualities, resist stress in the heat, and to reduce the chances of tearing at the tunnel ends, resistant to shrinkage and melting from hot hoops. In colder areas Ag-TUFF  Gold Greenhouse Covers will not readily become brittle, have far greater flex-crack resistance and superior weather resistant qualities minimise the need for repairs.

And now Ag-TUFF  has been further improved ready for the 21st Century by the addition of chemical resistant compounds and UV light transmission inhibitors as standard protection for all products bearing the Ag-TUFF label.

A state of the art UV protective additive (HALS) ensures that AG-TUFF GOLD is better protected from damage and lasts longer than conventional polyethylene covers. Life expectancy for polythene greenhouse covers used to be 18 months to 2 years. AG-TUFF GOLD has a life expectancy of between 3 to 5 years.

AG-TUFF GOLD has excellent light transmission qualities, resists stress in the heat and shrinks less. Not only will AG-TUFF GOLD resist melting from hot hoops, there is less chance of tearing at the tunnel ends. AG-TUFF GOLD is available in the following grades:

AG-TUFF GOLD The work horse film. It is tough, it is strong and it lasts. Designed for very high clarity (light transmission) and able to handle wide temperature ranges.

AG-TUFF GOLD (AF) The same film as AG-TUFF GOLD but with the addition of an Anti-Fog agent. This film inhibits the formation of large water droplets on the inner surface of the greenhouse or tunnels preventing damage to leaves and flowers, keeps leaves dry and therefore reduces the incidence of disease and maximises light transmission by keeping the film clear of water droplets.

AG-TUFF LIGHT As the greenhouse ages with the build up of dirt and rain spots, the light emission decreases. AG-TUFF LIGHT is specifically designed to enable growers who require maximum light and clean bright tunnels to replace the tunnels on an annual basis at an affordable price. This material is thinner in gauge and does not have the same life expectancy as regular Agtuff.

Every roll of AG-TUFF GOLD Greenhouse film is double wrapped in cardboard and poly to protect it from damage. Each roll is clearly labelled and includes a lists of do’s and don’ts on usage of the film and a printed code number for easy identification of the date of manufacture.

The AG-TUFF range of products are constantly being extended and developed. Currently trials of chemical resistant films are being tested, not by scientists in a far away overseas laboratory, but by growers in Australian fields where new products can be evaluated under real Australian conditions.

OTHER BUILDING & AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS: Plastic Technology Pty Ltd also manufactures a wide range of other agricultural and general use products of varying widths and gauges suitable for a number of applications including mulch and clouche film, haystack covers, silage film and dam liners.

Other U.V. stabilised film products for extended outdoor life can be manufactured upon request.

Recycled Plastic

The sophisticated washing treatment plant installed at its premises at Reservoir in the State of Victoria enables the Company to produce genuine low density polyethylene film and bags made from discarded 100% post consumer domestic and industrial waste.

This domestic and industrial plastic waste which would otherwise have been dumped at the rubbish tip, is brought to the Company's premises where it is sorted, shredded and thoroughly washed and all dirt and other impurities are removed.

The plastic is then dried and extruded into high quality resin beads which are converted into film on the Company's film blower extrusion lines and in turn processed into a large variety of value added products.

Plastic Technology Pty Ltd strives to produce a range of plastic film and bags which compares favourably with non-recycled products in both price and quality.

Some of the main products manufactured from recycled material include garbage bags, shopping carry bags, builders' film, timber wrap, pallet wrap and all types of packaging film.

BUILDERS FILM: Builders Film comes in different colours (Orange, Black & Natural), various sizes (1 metre to 6 metres), branded and complying with Australian Standards AS2870, AS4347.6 and AS1326 and in varying thicknesses ranging from 50 micron to 300 micron.

ARMOUR BAGS ®: These high quality bulk folded kitchen tidies and garbage bags, ranging in size from 18 litres to 240 litres, are produced entirely from discarded post domestic & industrial waste plastic material.

KWIK PICK BAGS ®: These individually folded and dispensed bags are packaged in handy sized cartons for ease of use. Products available include 75 litre garbage bags and medium size Kitchen Tidy bags.
